The First Tee of Blaine (at Victory Links Golf Course) will offer golf

instruction combined with character and life skills education to children of

National Guardsmen and Reservists. The initiative is made possible as part

of a two-year agreement between The First Tee, a nation-wide youth

development program, and the Department of Defense.

 

The FREE program aims to positively impact children of Guardsmen and

Reservists that reside in 200 civilian communities across America. New

sessions start throughout the year and dates and times vary by location. A

parent from the military family can sign up at The First Tee of Blaine (at

Victory Links Golf Course) or download a voucher at

 

 

Farmington Warrior to Citizen invites all veterans to enjoy a good meal or

two.

 

It's a chance for all area vets to dine together, share tales, and get to know

one another.And what's more, it's free.

 

Meals will be served the first Monday of each month, beginning at 6 p.m.

A new program is starting for tuition reimbursement for spouses. If you can put it in the news letter. you may already know, Minnesotanationalguard.org website. Go to education and then spouse. You get 12 semester hours for college a year.

 

Apply at the above website. This may take up to four months.

 

NACCRRA is the national organization that provides fee assistance to military families for child care. Here in Minnesota we have a pilot project for 16 hours of free child care for deployed Army National Guard and Reserve families. This project is currently only available to families in Minnesota and the paperwork for this project goes through our office. "Here's to the Heroes," a program sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, provides free admission in 2010 for any active duty, active reserve, National Guardsman or ready reserve service member representing any of the five service branches and as many as three of his or her direct dependents.

All service members need to do is register online at www.herosalute.com or in the entrance plaza of a participating park, and show a Department of Defense (DoD) photo identification. Each pass is valid for a one-day admission per person per year to five of Anheuser-Busch's seven theme park brands.

 

"Hello, my name is Victoria Snyder. I live in Dayton, just north of Maple Grove and south of Rogers.

 

I own and operate Plenty Star II Riding Center. We're a new equestrian facility and provide riding lessons for kids and adults in our new heated indoor arena in the winter, and in or outdoors in the temperate months.

 

I would like to do something to give back to the moms, dads and kids that are here in MN waiting for the return of their loved ones.

 

We have wonderful, amazing horses who have helped fill a sad or lonely heart with their love and gentle curiosity.

 

I would like to offer the chance for any MN military family who has loved ones deployed to come ride at our facility at no charge available to them on a Sunday or Friday evening..they just need to email me so we can work out a good time and date.

 

I've seen our wonderful horses do amazing things with kids and adults and although I don't have a lot of anything else to give, if my horses and my time will help fill a lonely moment with a new and happy memory, I'd very much like to do that.
